FREE FAMILY WORKSHOPS: Georgian Summer Fun and Games

This summer, we are inviting families to get playful and join us at John Wesley’s New Room.

During the last two weeks of the school summer holidays, join us for fun and games inspired by the Georgians. Step back in time, dress like a Georgian. Play with toys and games Georgian children would have enjoyed. Make your own toy to take home.

  • Dress up

  • Play with old toys and games

  • Handle toys from the past

  • Make a toy.

With the option to book a quieter session or just drop-in, have fun exploring toys and games from the past.

The workshops will be in the Broadmead Courtyard, a public outdoor space or in the beautiful 18th century Chapel on the ground floor.

Children 3+ years. FREE. Donations welcome.

Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Also, throughout the school holidays there are FREE activities in the Chapel and FREE child museum admission (23rd July – 2nd September).

John Wesley's New Room

John Wesley’s New Room is a heritage site in the heart of Bristol. It houses a museum, library, café, events and hire space. It is home to the original 18th century chapel that started the Methodist movement.

It also houses an award-winning Café and a vast reference Library. John Wesley’s New Room hosts a range of art, music and family events and is also available to hire.
