Our Education Officer can be booked to speak about John Wesley at school assemblies for all key stages.

RE Days for Primary Schools
Our education team has devised a Primary RE Day which introduces a whole school to John Wesley. We can run lesson plans and assemblies for Reception, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 across a day in school. Please contact our Education Officer for details.

Other Groups for Young People
If you are a leader of a uniformed organisation, Junior Church group, Sunday School, activity group or any other group for children or young people, please contact our team if you would like to arrange an online talk or a site visit.
Education at John Wesley's New Room
We offer:
Online lessons & assemblies, downloadable resource packs as well as safe visits to schools and school visits to the New Room. In addition we can provide RE Days for Primary Schools and activities for other groups of Young People.
New programme 2021-22
The New Room’s education programme has been completely updated to include a range of resources that schools and groups can use to engage with the story of John Wesley, his actions and his beliefs in creative and safe ways.
Lessons are now available for Key Stages 1, 2 and 3 which can be delivered online by our education team via Zoom or bought in resource packs. These lessons can also be presented in class by a visiting member of our DBS checked education team, or through a fully risk assessed site visit to the New Room. Key Stage 1
We tell the story of ‘John Wesley and his Horse’ and link to activities which can be completed in the classroom.
Key Stage 1
Key Stage 2
Three different lessons are available which introduce John Wesley and the New Room and explore Wesley’s fierce opposition to the eighteenth century transatlantic slave trade. One of these is a brand new lesson (produced in conjunction with RE Today) called ‘A Tale of Two Statues’ which compares and contrasts the lives and statues of John Wesley and Edward Colston.
Key Stage 2
Key Stage 3
Lessons are available which introduce John Wesley and the New Room and enable classes to explore John Wesley’s opposition to the eighteenth century transatlantic slave trade.
