Welcoming you back safely
We are delighted to say that we are currently open from Tuesday to Saturday with new opening hours of 11am - 3pm. Our team have worked hard to ensure that we operate safely, in line with the enhanced safety measures set out by the UK Government.
The health and safety of our visitors, volunteers and staff is our number one priority, so we have taken measures to ensure that your visit is Covid-19 secure. From enhanced cleaning regimes, one way systems, hand sanitiser stations across the site and social distancing markers, we’ve endeavoured to do everything we can to make sure that you have a safe visit.
The New Room café is open for socially distanced table service, offering drinks, cakes and light lunches. The chapel and Broadmead courtyard are also open for private prayer and reflection, and we will be holding a reflective spoken-word only Emmaus service on Tuesdays at 1pm-1.30pm. The museum and shop are also open, although our library currently remains closed.
In order to manage social distancing around the museum we are encouraging visitors to reserve a timed entry slot which can be paid for at our welcome desk on arrival. Visitors can arrive on the day without a booking, but priority will be given to those who have reserved a time slot.
Our events space will remain closed to the public for the time being whilst we continue to review how we operate in a Covid-19 secure way. We will not be accepting room bookings or holding any events until September 2020.
Please note our toilets are restricted to patrons only. Other public toilets can be found in The Galleries and Cabot Circus.
Before your visit:
- Bring a face covering - our staff and volunteers will be wearing face coverings, and we ask all visitors to do the same.
- Showing symptoms? We politely request that you do not visit us if you are showing symptoms of Covid-19.
- We have contactless pay points at all the tills, and encourage you to pay by card.
- Keep checking here to find out the latest information as we re-open more of our facilities in the coming weeks.
Test and Trace
In order to help reduce the risk of a local outbreak of coronavirus, we will be taking contact details for everyone visiting the New Room, as well as recording times entering and leaving our premises.
In line with guidance issued by the Department for Health and Social Care, we will keep your details for 21 days, held securely in accordance with GDPR. We will share them with Test and Trace personnel, if asked, in the event of a fellow visitor or team member testing positive for coronavirus.
We look forward to welcoming you back soon.
