All have been decorated by Bristol and UK artists. To mark the hosting of a globe in Broadmead, John Wesley’s New Room is hosting a workshop organised by Broadmead BID and the World Reimagined.

Discover the Power of Your Voice

Music has been a key form of expression and inspiration during all movements for social justice and progress. Fresh from her run in the lead role of Eliza Hamilton, Sharon Rose will lead your teams in a unique workshop that explores the power of voice – in all its forms. Our voices are connected to so many different parts of our body, history and understanding of the world. In whichever way we find and use them, they can help us make progress – to stand up for what you believe, to seek justice and equality in the workplace, to give expression to the best version of you. This workshop uses conversation, dialogue, music and singing to help you explore and discover the power of your voice.

Meet Sharon Rose:

Sharon is an actor, writer and singer who found her voice in church choirs and on school stages at a very young age and from then on, her and her eclectic band of siblings, born in Zimbabwe and having migrated to the UK, they travelled together playing gigs and venues all over the country in pursuit of their dream: writing and creating music people can laugh, dance and cry to. She’s played the roles of Little Eva in the Hit west end show: Carole King, The musical, Mary Wells and Diana Ross in Motown, the Musical (West End), a “Radio” in Tony Kushner’s Broadway hit Caroline, or Change at the Hampstead Theatre before taking on the lead role of Eliza Hamilton in Hamilton, An American Musical in the West End. Sharon also plays the role of Joanne Jangle in Netflix’s Jingle Jangle, A Christmas Journey.

The World Reimagined

These workshops are running alongside The World Reimagined, a series of globe trails taking place in seven cities across the UK including Bristol. Broadmead Business Improvement District (BID) is sponsoring one of the Bristol globes, located in Bristol Shopping Quarter, and these two free to attend workshops.
