Singing and Stories Workshop

Engaging with the museum collection through song

In this free workshop, the New Room museum shares stories of Bristol’s history you may be unfamiliar with; themes of slavery and abolition, healthcare, environmental concern, and social divide are all highlighted in the 12 rooms above where the New Room community choir usually meet for rehearsals.

Come along to a free online workshop session which combines these themes of social justice with singing historical songs. See real objects, hear first-hand accounts and be inspired to make a difference in your own community.

This workshop is facilitated by the New Room’s Collections Manager, Kate Rogers and registered Music Therapists and Community Choir leaders, Meg and Judit. The workshop will take place on Zoom, creating an interactive experience for participants. A Zoom link will be sent to all registered attendees on the day of the event.

This workshop is kindly funded and supported by the South West Museum Development Partnership.

Tickets: FREE, limited spaces
