Accordionist Ben de Souza and violinist Chloë Meade will present a programme of works for violin and accordion.

Ben de Souza is one of the UK’s top young accordion players and completed his studies with Owen Murray at the Royal Academy of Music. He is a regular recitalist and has performed extensively across the UK in venues such as Stoller Hall, Hampton Court Palace, Cambridge University and Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. Ben has also performed with Vladimir Ashkenazy and the Philhamonia Orchestra at St David’s Hall and the Royal Festival Hall. He has collaborated with the West Forest Sinfonia Chamber Ensemble and has workshopped new compositions by students at the Academy, Trinity Laban and Cambridge University. Ben also holds a Masters in Choral Studies from Cambridge University.

Chloë Meade is a member of the Frinton Quartet and recently graduated from the Royal Academy of Music, where she studied with Joshua Fisher. As a soloist she has performed concertos by Bach and Bruch, while she has played in orchestras under the batons of Sir Mark Elder, Marin Alsop and Yan Pascal Tortelier, among others. Her work as a violinist has taken her to venues such as Royal Festival Hall, St James’ Piccadilly, St John’s Smith Square and the Royal Albert Hall. Chloë is particularly interested in the work of women composers and has completed a research project on the music of Ethel Smyth and Rebecca Clarke.

Join us for this free recital at 1.30pm on Friday 13th March in the beautiful acoustics of 18th Century chapel.  The concert will be preceded by Holy Communion from 1pm-1.25pm.  All are welcome.
