Kingswood 275 Exhibition

2023 marks the 275th anniversary of Kingswood School in Bath, but the origins of the school began with a vision from John Wesley to transform education in Kingswood, Bristol.

We all remember our school days – for better or worse! This summer we uncover education as it was 275 years ago in Kingswood, Bristol. How does it compare with schooling today? In this exhibition we examine the successes and challenges of setting up a school in the 18th century, and we highlight the remarkable stories of inspiring individuals who preserved in learning through immense trial.

John Wesley's New Room

John Wesley’s New Room is a heritage site in the heart of Bristol. It houses a museum, library, café, events and hire space. It is home to the original 18th century chapel that started the Methodist movement.

It also houses an award-winning Café and a vast reference Library. John Wesley’s New Room hosts a range of art, music and family events and is also available to hire.
