Music: Wesley Stace (aka John Wesley Harding)

An evening of live music with razor-sharp wit and wisdom

He may well be the best UK songwriter you’ve never heard of! Resident in the USA since the early nineties, he’s been joined on stage by Bruce Springsteen, Lou Reed, Iggy Pop and John Prine to name just a few, and his songs have been sung by, among others, Rosanne Cash, Tanya Donelly, Graham Parker, Josh Ritter and Wreckless Eric.

His monthly show, Cabinet of Wonders, has been running in NYC for over ten years. This variety show, the apotheosis of alternative cabaret, brings together musicians, comedians, authors and poets as diverse as Steve EarleSalman RushdieMobyJonathan Coe, Shirley Collins and Harry Hill.

Signed by Seymour Stein to Sire in 1989, he released a number of albums and EPs of insightful and melodic songs as John Wesley Harding. His debut studio album ‘Here Comes The Groom’ featured amongst others The Attractions’ Bruce and Pete ThomasTom Robinson and Kirsty MacColl.

This will be his first UK live music tour in 15 years. His live music shows are always a treat: expect an evening not only of great songs, but also razor-sharp wit and wisdom.
