Community Choir at the New Room

The New Room Community Choir meet weekly during term-times on a Wednesday lunchtime 12.15 – 1pm. No auditions, no need to read music – everyone is welcome!

You are welcome to join at any time and it’s free! With a varied repertoire of pop, folk, rock, jazz, blues and gospel, and open to requests for your favourite tunes, the New Room Community Choir hopes to bring people together through singing.

For Rose and Judit, our choir leaders, the idea of the New Room Choir is to create a relaxed space to enjoy singing together and have fun learning new songs.

Term runs from Wednesday 10th January to Wednesday 21st March (half term break on Wednesday 14th February).

Community Choir

Rose is a professional jazz singer and is currently part of ‘Les Voice Messengers’ singing jazz and contemporary music. She has experience leading choirs and setting up vocal groups.

Judit is a pianist and music teacher. She has experience singing in choirs as well as accompanying, and conducting ocasionally. She has been involved in coordinating and assisting children musical projects.

Rose and Judit are both registered music therapists and are aware of the many benefits of singing in a choir – singing as part of a group is an opportunity to connect and share a meaningful and fun experience that can improve mood and inspire confidence and motivation.

All welcome, all free, just turn up and join anytime!
