Before your visit
- Thank you for wearing a face covering - our staff and volunteers will be wearing face coverings, and we appreciate it when our visitors do the same unless you are seated in the cafe or exempt.
- Showing symptoms? We thank you for keeping yourself and others safe by not visiting us if you are showing symptoms of Covid-19.
- We have contactless pay points at all the tills, and encourage you to pay by card.
Test and Trace
In order to help reduce the risk of a local outbreak of coronavirus, we will be taking contact details for everyone over 16 years old visiting the New Room or asking you to use the NHS Test and Trace app.
In line with guidance issued by the Department for Health and Social Care, we will keep your details for 21 days, held securely in accordance with GDPR. We will share them with Test and Trace personnel, if asked, in the event of a fellow visitor or team member testing positive for coronavirus.

Coronavirus Statement
Please be assured that we have put all the appropriate measures in place to make the New Room as safe as possible and we will be following Government guidelines in respect of hands, face, space and ask that visitors do the same. We encourage all visitors to wear face coverings when at the New Room and test and trace continues to operate for all visitors to the site.
Our safety precautions include extra cleaning and sanitising, hand sanitising stations as you enter the building, limiting visitor numbers at any one time, and encouraging contactless payments where possible. To allow for social distancing we have clear queueing areas, signage and floor markings to help customers stay safely-distanced.
In order to manage social distancing around the Museum we are encouraging visitors to reserve a timed entry slot which can be paid for at our Welcome Desk on arrival. You can book your Museum time slot here. Visitors can arrive on the day without a booking, but priority will be given to those who have reserved a time slot.
Like many other charities, museums and cultural venues across the UK, the New Room is now in a financially challenged position. As we face uncertain times ahead, we need your support more than ever. If you are able to, please consider donating towards the work of the New Room through PayPal here.
We continue to pray for all those who have been affected by this situation and thank you for your patience and understanding at this time.
We look forward to welcoming you back soon.
